This serves as an introduction to a responsible skincare routine. You’ve taken the first step toward skin health, good work. Here are the basics; we’ll keep it brief.
Cleansing is the foundation. Before you apply secondary products, you cleanse. It sets the slate clean. Typically, you’ll use the Cleanser — a formula designed to both clear impurities and soothe and hydrate your skin. But the Cleanser can also be replaced or supplemented by the Scrub — an exfoliant which will clear off dead skin cells and reveal fresher, younger skin cells. Be gentle with both, but especially the Scrub. And it’s nice to follow the Scrub with the Cleanser for a double-cleanse.
Moisturizers are next. We offer two: Moisturizer and Recovery Cream. Our Moisturizer is great for daily application. It’s has a matte finish and helps keep the skin’s oil to water levels balanced. If you do nothing else, use the Cleanser and Moisturizer, day, night and post-sweat.
Recovery Cream is a heavier barrier cream that's a rich formula offering strong lipid support for the skin cells. This is normally applied at night, after cleansing and before sleep. It’ll feed the skin overnight. It can also be used in dry climates and after intense efforts when the skin needs a more potent source of nutrients to aid recovery.
SPF is mandatory during daytime hours. This is key to skin health and preventing skin-related issues. Even if you will not be in direct sunlight, apply a broad spectrum SPF every day. We like Supergoop Everyday SPF.
Masks are the final part of a solid routine. Our Mask can be used to offer the skin a boost — it's dense in nutrients and will give the skin extra support when needed. It’s especially nice after exfoliating with the Scrub. Apply generously and leave on for 5-15 minutes, then rinse and follow with a moisturizer.
